Urgent DOWNSIZE Issue when applying WATERMARK to .TIFF
Good Morning:
As a usually satisfied DOWNSIZE customer,
I've chalked the following up to User Error but still haven't
cracked the code as to what exactly I'm doing wrong.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I've discovered that when I'm watermarking .tiff files
(STRICTLY applying a watermark....and I need them preserved as
.tiff files in their orig file size) DOWNSIZE is sadly dumbing down
and spawning the resultant file in the jpeg file : ( WHAT am I
doing wrong?
For example:
I go to watermark a usual 34mb Tiff file....
and the end product is an unusable 5 - 7 mb jpeg : (
Is DOWNSIZE not intended to handle .tiffs? I trust this must be a pref that I've mal-set somewhere? Right?
Holding my breath,
jp

Typo from My Original Post:
Forgive me but I'd intended to write the following in my paragraph #2.
<<I've discovered that when I'm watermarking .tiff files...........DOWNSIZE is sadly dumbing them down and incorrectly spawning the resultant files in the JPEG file format. (NOT .tiffs).....>>

Hello,
Sorry I don't have a better answer for you - but the current version of Downsize outputs only jpeg files - there are no options to export as TIFF.

Hi Dan:
Thx for getting back to me.
Although I'm sorry to hear that -
I can sort of begin to fathom why the ability to watermark TIFF files might not be a priority feature for DOWNSIZE. It's all good either way. I was simply hoping it would be able to do that so that we could permanently brand certain photographs before they get delivered to clients.
I'd been handling most of my watermarking thru the IMPRESSION plug-in for Aperture3 but it's performance has been intermittent as of late.
What a wicked cool piece of software this DOWNSIZE is.
Love the rounded edges framing options!
Bravo,
juan

Juan,
Thanks! The good news is that the next version of Downsize should be able to export to more formats, although I can't say for sure just yet what formats will be supported.
