Pre-Purchase Questions
I have some pre-puchase questions about Downsize:
1) I assume that "integrated with iPhoto" does not mean that I
can access Downsize from within iPhoto, yes?
2) The list in Downsize's viewer shows my albums, etc. Is there
anyway I can click down and select individual photos, or am I
limited to changing the entire contents of an album? If the latter,
I assume this means that I have to drag photos into albums I create
specifically for Downsize modification. And that all photos in that
album can only be modified in the same way (for different
modifications, I'll have to create a new album).
3) If I drag a photo I want to, say, watermark, into a provisional
album (assuming my assumptions in #2 are correct), the changes I make to
that photo are made universally to all incidents of that photo in
iPhoto (i.e., I won't have a watermarked and un-watermarked version
of this photo, it's all one or the other). So if I don't want to
make universal changes, I'll have to create a folder on my desktop,
make a copy of the photo and put it in the desktop folder, then
tell Downsize to look for photos in that folder, than manipulate
those. I know that Downsize doesn't make destructive changes, but
I'd like to be able to make changes to photos and not have to
change them back.
Please let me know the scoop. I want to take advantage of MacZot!'s daily deal today and will only purchase the license if I can get it for MacZot!'s price.
Thank you.

Hi,
1) You can not access Downsize from within iPhoto - you can only access your iPhoto library from within Downsize.
2) Yes, only albums can be selected. The other option would be to create a folder on your hard drive of the images you want to modify and use Downsize to process that folder.
3) When Downsize processes images, it only reads from the images you specify, and creates a new folder containing the processed images. So, the original images are not touched and the watermarked / processed images are not automatically imported into iPhoto.
If any of that isn't clear or doesn't answer your question properly let me know, I'd be happy to clarify!
Thanks for checking out Downsize!

Thanks! This is better than I expected. Think I'll give it a shot.
