Feature request - import old invoices?

Hi,

I am in the process of thinking about switching from Billings to On the Job. I am very impressed with On the Job's ease of use, as well as its features like multiple currencies (inexplicably STILL missing from Billings). It took me less than ten minutes to replicate my existing invoice template in OTJ.

Anyhow, I have 3 years of invoices in Billings, both within its database and as exported PDF files. The invoices are essentially to the same clients I have now, and it would be nice to somehow integrate them into OTJ. I can imagine that importing Billings' whole database might be a tall order, but maybe there's a way to bring in the PDF files? even if I subsequently have to flag them per client.

Does that sound difficult? Impossible?
It's actually an important consideration for a potential switcher like me.
cheers,
Ric

    Hi Ric,

At this point we have not really looked at directly importing data from Billings, but I'm sure it would be no small task, if it is even possible at all. I think at this point there are better things we can spend our development time on. As for importing PDFs, that would definitely be possible, and not nearly as much work.

Thanks for letting us know about your concerns, it's definitely helpful to know what people are looking for.

I would love to switch from Billings to OTJ, and being able to import my existing client PDFs would seal the deal for me. If you would add this feature, I WILL switch!

    Thanks,
    Heather

Thanks for the enthusiasm heather! If it's just a matter of importing PDFs basically for archiving, I can see that as a possibility for a future version.
