Hi,

I am evaluating the demo version of OTJ 3.0.3 and it seams to be almost what I was looking for.

There are, however, two important features that I am missing:

  1. the ability to generate and manage estimates
    (already discussed and answered in this other thread http://support.stuntsoftware.com/discussions/on-the-job/47-proforma...);

  2. rulers and guidelines for invoice design;

Is this planned for a near future? Or already there hiding somewhere?

Thanks and best regards,
JDf

    Hello,

    Estimates are still on the drawing board, but we do realize that this is an important area to address in the future. I can't comment on exactly what might end up making it into the application at this point.

    Guides of some sort will be coming to the invoice editor in the the future. I can't give you a date on that, but they'll get in there for sure at some point..

    I also would love to have Rulers & Guides in template editor + several other really helpful features:

    • Undo/redo (preferably multiple level)
    • Multiple object selection and editing (for positioning, alignment, fonts, colours etc.)
    • Save confirmation (so templates can't accidentally be modified)
    • Zoom In/Out
    • Append or Prepend specific characters or strings to dynamic data (for example # prepended to right aligned invoice number would eliminate any spacing issues with two objects). Not high priority, but makes for prettier layouts :)

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Ditto on these. :)

    In the mean time I have been using Xscope to provide my guides which has been helpful.

    I fully agree with Kim. In addition I'd love to ask for a locking button (like in InDesign, OmniGraffle, etc.).

    Overall, the editor for me still feels very limited and to be honest, I would be happy if instead I could use HTML or XML/XSLT code to manually define the templates instead just to make sure that the alignments are correct. Like this it often feel just like randomly moving things around.

    I hope that a improved template editor will come soon.

    Thanks for the great work,
    Wolf
