Feature Request: Global Hotkey for Starting/Stopping timer.
I think a feature that would be really useful is a global hotkey to start/stop the timer. I find myself needing to get up and do things while I'm working on a task - it'd be really convenient to be able to just hit a shortcut to stop the timer, and then hit it again when I am finished to stop the timer.
It'd also be really great of the keyboard shortcut was programmable - that way, for example, I could hit cmd+option+F8 (my Play/Pause button) and it'd pause the timer. That'd be really natural, since I use that key enough as it is.

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for your suggestion - I think you're right that a global hotkey would be quite useful for a lot of people.
I'm not sure that even if we made the hot key programable if it would be able to perform two functions at once (I'm not sure if that's what you're implying by the play/pause button). As I understand it, a global hot key can only apply to one application at a time in OS X.

Hi Dan,
That would be great. I'd like to start/stop with the keyboard instead of the menu bar every time. I think what Trevor was saying is that he uses the F8 key for play/pause, so if he simply added Command and Option, he could use the same button, which would feel natural since he would be "playing/pausing" his timer. No big deal, just as long as there is some shortcut or a way to set the shortcut.
Thanks!
Rob

Rob,
Oh yes, re-reading it now I think you're right - that makes much more sense. Thanks!
